The Forever Alone meme is a mutation of the "Rage Guy" phenomena, both of them are extremely popular on internet image boards and forums.

The origin of the meme is unclear, but sources claim that it originated on various image boards including 4chan sometime in late 2010. The main objective of the meme is to display an action leading to emotional distress, leading to the utter loneliness of the character in subject.
